Who we are

Kindred Care is an independently owned business located in small town Breton. We are dedicate to offering wholehearted, compassionate care that meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of its clients in a dignified and empowered manner.

Our company owner, Sherrie Ellis believes that we provide a much needed service to our aging clients. Senior housing isn’t for everyone, often has long wait lists, limited availability and can be hard to find. Our services provide assistance to the seniors and the clients of our communities who need periodic care and want to age happily in their own home while staying connected to friends, families and communities.

A natural career progression for Sherrie was to expand into home care services. A now retired Licensed Practical Nurse with 15 years experience in acute care, palliative and geriatric care; she understands the ongoing support seniors and their families need on a daily basis.

Inspired by her grandparents who managed to live on their farm until her grandfather passed away at the golden age of 99 years old and her grandmother several years later due to dementia. Sherrie remembers seeing the look of happiness on their faces when she visited with her children regularly. The gratitude expressed with the help of garden or household chores; and the sense of peace and contentment in her grandmother during time spent when she was lonely and felt isolated. While looking into home care for a family member, it was apparent that there was a lack of affordable and available services in the area, this combined with her joy of caring for others has genuinely led to the development of Kindred Care Home Services.
